DOORWAYS was established in 1988 by community leaders and senior representatives of the area's major religious denominations, and the values expressed through their initiating efforts continue to drive the organization to this day. DOORWAYS Board of Directors reserves seats for representatives from The Episcopal Church, The St. Louis Rabbinical Association, The Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod and/or ELCA), the Presbytery of Giddings-Lovejoy, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese, the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church, and the Black Clergy Coalition.

Several of DOORWAYS’ faith partners have become Keystone Communities. Civic and social groups also play an important part in our mission, and find new and creative ways to support our efforts.

  • Would you like to have a speaker from Doorways address your congregation or club?
  • How about collecting donations of goods needed by our clients and residents ?
  • Might the members of your group be interested in becoming a Keystone Community ?
  • Or perhaps your members would like to organize their own fundraiser to benefit our cause?

However groups choose to help DOORWAYS’ clients, their efforts improve the lives and health of people living with HIV/AIDS.

Please visit the links page . This includes special resources for communities of faith who would like to do more to promote healing among people living with HIV/AIDS.
