| DOORWAYS was established in 1988 by community leaders and senior representatives of the area's major religious denominations, and the values expressed through their initiating efforts continue to drive the organization to this day. DOORWAYS Board of Directors reserves seats for representatives from The Episcopal Church, The St. Louis Rabbinical Association, The Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod and/or ELCA), the Presbytery of Giddings-Lovejoy, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese, the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church, and the Black Clergy Coalition. Several of DOORWAYS’ faith partners have become Keystone Communities. Keystone Communities is the chance for local and regional communities of faith and other groups to demonstrate their commitment to people living with HIV/AIDS through annual gifts or grants of $1,000 or more.
